Marabese Bathroom Design & Installation: Great Denham, Bedford
Designer: Barbara Babb
Have a 'spa day' at home!
On stepping into this spa-inspired bathroom, one's toes will instantly feel cosy and warm, being greeted with welcoming underfloor heating. The large Helmsley designer towel rail by Eastbrook also provides warmth whilst being incredibly stylish, showing off its striking matt black finish.
The black theme is used on fixtures and accessories throughout, giving a fresh, edgy and distinct look, while moving away from the classic chrome finish seen in traditional bathrooms. Choosing black is also terribly practical, allowing you to say “bye bye” to the constant polishing and cleaning of smears, limescale or fingerprints commonly found on metallic taps and fittings.
The plumbing is kept hidden away in the WC unit and vanity unit beneath the impressive basin, which also provides essential storage. And what can be said about the magnificent mirror? It has a thin black frame with rounded corners, highlighted by ambient backlighting controlled by touch sensor. It’s quite a showpiece… bravo!
Taking a shower in this fashionable bathroom will give an experience nothing short of luxurious. The spacious showering area is partitioned with a gorgeous square-framed screen by Novellini, which is a feature of its own! The thermostatic shower has both a fixed head and shower kit, allowing you to get clean in the way that relaxes you most… you could even use one as a make-believe microphone to assist with singing in the shower!
My Space Cloud tiles connect the floor and feature wall seamlessly, giving an impression of more space and an uncluttered spa feel. The realistic wood-effect is also reflected in the mirror opposite, breaking up the otherwise plainer wall. Interno 9 Pearl tiles are found on the remaining walls, delivering a calming backdrop. Their concrete-effect surface has a slight metallic finish, giving an artistic sheen which is nicely finished off with a contrasting black trim.
This delightful Great Denham bathroom was lovingly designed by Barbara Babb, based at Marabese in Bedford. Barbara started the design from scratch and produced CAD drawings to give her client an accurate visual with elevation views of the plans. Sanitaryware was placed in accordance with the available space around the window and two doors, and we think it couldn’t have been designed better! Praise also goes to our wonderful fitters, Joe and Ben Caruso, who completed the job to a first-rate standard, as always.
