Small & dark is beautiful

A common thinking would be to choose a bright colour scheme for a relatively small space however this bathroom has gone against the rules. Besides, whites and metallics, which are a must-have in a bathroom look so much cooler against a dark background!

The wall and floor tiles are from the Interno 9 range by ABK in three different colours: Pearl, Silver and Dark. The gorgeous tile collection has the look of oxidised metals paired with the imitation concrete trend. The delicate finish of the tiles reflects the light, leaving a gentle shimmery surface. Using the same tile collection throughout creates a harmonious and continuous feel, but the varying shades break up any monotony.

The wall-hung Seattle basin unit by Crosswater has been installed beside the matching Seattle WC unit, giving the look of a modular design. It appears to be a single unit and makes the best use of available space, providing storage solutions without taking up floor space. The dark grey wood effect units contrast beautifully against the shiny white Qualitex sanitaryware. The freestanding Opal vanity basin is shown off against the black waste and Onyx basin mixer tap.

Having the toilet and basin placed side by side leaves ample space for a luxurious showering area. Rather than choosing a traditional closed in cubicle which would obstruct the window, a walk-in shower enclosure is used.

The large Genesis showerwall with flipper panel by Qualitex provides a beautiful open space - a great way to add minimalist contemporary design. Other benefits include easier accessibility for all members of the family, and as it is completely free of doors, you won’t feel the dramatic difference in temperature when you step back into the main bathroom area.

The smoked glass of the enclosure provides greater privacy and follows the dark colour scheme, especially when paired with the black Novosolid shower tray by Novellini. It has a characteristic stone effect textured finish and thermal qualities to leave a warm feeling underfoot.

The Velar Thermostatic Shower brings the real wow factor with its dramatic and contemporary matt black finish. Its square fixed shower head has minuscule nodules and air-therm technology to provide a natural and soothing water spray.

Above the basin is the all-important Mars Mirror from Phoenix. Its stunning frameless sleek design adds something beautiful to the room, especially when illuminated. It has a heated demister pad, so no need to worry about leaving streaks when wiping away the steam from the shower!

Heat is provided by the stylish Eon anthracite radiator, which has additional towel rails in a contrasting chrome finish.

Trustpilot review

This stylish bathroom was fitted for Mark by Dan Holmes from DJH Ceramics and designed by Barbara Babb from Marabese, Bedford. Mark was a delight to deal with, and thankfully he's as pleased with his new bathroom as we are!
