Our Designer’s Top Picks: Lucio Marabese Jnr

Marabese Showroom: Bedford

Lucio is based at the Marabese showroom in Bedford and has been working in the industry for 18 years. We asked him about his favourite recent installation, and he chose a kitchen that he designed and supplied to J&M contractors. The customer’s budget was around £20,000.00. Lucio says:

The kitchen was simple to install and actually only took just over a week to complete. The main challenge we had to overcome was the design and installation of the drinks/display cabinet which was recessed within the wall.

I think the main aspect which works really well in this design is the use of different colours and textures. The harshness of the sleek black units is softened by the subtle American oak. The crisp statuario marble worktop, particularly around the island, stands out as a real centrepiece in this ultra-modern kitchen.

The kitchen is comprised of only just a few units, but it feels very spacious and inviting! It’s the perfect way of conjoining a working kitchen in a large open living space.
